As we continue to grow and enhance our impact, we are seeking a Data and Evaluation Manager to lead our data collection and analysis efforts, ensuring continuous program improvement and organizational effectiveness.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Data and Evaluation Manager plays a pivotal role at C5LA, overseeing all aspects of data collection, management, and analysis to drive program excellence and organizational effectiveness. This position is responsible for ensuring that data systems are well-designed, accurate, and consistently maintained—primarily through Salesforce and the Google Suite. Beyond data integrity, this role requires a strategic thinker who can intuitively analyze trends, assess outcomes, and develop clear, actionable recommendations that inform continuous program improvement and operational decision-making. Working closely with both the program and development teams, the Data and Evaluation Manager will leverage insights to enhance youth outcomes, improve internal processes, and support fundraising efforts by aligning data stories with impact. This is not just a technical role—it’s a critical leadership position that helps shape how C5LA understands its work and scales its mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Data Management & Analysis

• Oversee the collection, organization, and analysis of key programmatic data, including high school and college student progress, attendance, GPA tracking, college applications, acceptances, persistence, and success.
• Ensure data is collected and entered efficiently and accurately to support program evaluation and continuous quality improvement.
• Identify trends and insights from the data to inform staff on program effectiveness and areas for improvement.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to share findings with leadership and program staff.

Fundraising & Development Support

• Work closely with the Director of Development to ensure Salesforce fundraising records are up to date, accurately capturing all donor interactions, contributions, and trends in giving over time.
• Analyze donor data to identify fundraising trends, donor retention, and opportunities for growth.
• Generate reports to support grant applications, donor communications, and development strategy.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Partner with the leadership team to refine and elevate data collection processes, ensuring alignment with C5LA’s mission and strategic goals.
• Train staff on data entry protocols and best practices to maintain consistency and accuracy across all records.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Expertise in Salesforce (data entry, reporting, dashboard creation, automation).
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Google Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc.) 
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
• Experience managing programmatic and fundraising data, particularly in nonprofit or education-based organizations.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights for program staff and leadership.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present data findings to different stakeholders.
• A degree (Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred) in either Data Science, Statistics or Applied Mathematics, Public Policy or Public Administration, Social Sciences, Education or Educational Leadership, Information Systems or Computer Science.
• Strong Knowledge of the Los Angeles school system, policies, structures, and resources, particularly as they relate to high school graduation requirements, student support services, and postsecondary pathways.
• Strong understanding of California’s A-G requirements for high school graduation and college eligibility.
• Experience in training staff on inputting, extrapolating, analyzing and reporting on data.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a student-centered approach.
