Job Overview:

We are seeking a high-energy, passionate Program Specialist to lead the Frameworks Career Accelerator Program. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic individual who thrives on mentoring young people, particularly young men, driving program recruitment, and spearheading growth initiatives. You will be the heartbeat of this program, inspiring and encouraging participants while also holding them accountable for their actions, building partnerships, and expanding our reach to transform lives through mentorship and career readiness. The Frameworks program in particular embodies Bearings’ “high expectations, high support” approach to youth development, and our ethos is one of “radical empowerment, relentless encouragement,” striving to empower youth to take ownership of their lives with character and purpose and have a supportive and encouraging community ready to back them up and help in any way we can.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mentorship & Participant Support: Serve as a dynamic mentor and role model for young adults in the program, providing feedback, encouragement, and practical advice to help them succeed in the program and make plans for their next career step.
• Program Recruitment: Develop and execute creative recruitment strategies to attract high-potential participants, focusing on Atlanta’s urban communities. Strategies will include on the street and word of mouth recruitment efforts as well as through relationships with schools and community organizations to identify and engage candidates.
• Program Growth: Drive the expansion of the Frameworks Career Accelerator Program by identifying new opportunities, securing partnerships, and increasing enrollment numbers. Collaborate with the Bearings Bike Works team to enhance program offerings and impact.
• Workshops & Training Facilitation: Building off the existing Frameworks curriculum, plan and lead high-energy workshops, training sessions, and group activities that blend career skills, personal development and goal setting
• Community Engagement: Act as an ambassador for Bearings Bike Works, promoting the program at community events, networking with stakeholders, and amplifying our mission to empower youth of all ages.
• Program Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, track participant progress, and ensure program goals are met. Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to leadership on outcomes and opportunities. Oversee program budget and allocation of resources.

Qualifications:

• Passion for Mentorship: Deep commitment to mentoring and uplifting teens and young adults, with a knack for connecting with diverse personalities and backgrounds.
• High Energy & Enthusiasm: A contagious, upbeat attitude that motivates participants and stakeholders alike. You bring the spark that keeps the program thriving!
• Experience: 4+ years in mentorship, youth development, youth ministry, career coaching, or program coordination. Experience working with urban youth and/or the non-profit sector is a plus.
• Recruitment & Outreach Skills: Proven ability to recruit participants and build networks. Comfortable with grassroots outreach and public speaking.
• Growth Mindset: Innovative thinker with a track record of growing programs or initiatives. You see challenges as opportunities to expand impact.
• Team Player: Collaborative spirit with strong communication skills, eager to work alongside staff, volunteers, and community partners.
• Bonus Skills: Familiarity with or passion for bike mechanics, career training frameworks, or case management is an advantage but not required.
