    The Opportunity

At this critical moment when civil and constitutional rights of AAPI communities are under unprecedented attack, the Asian Law Caucus (ALC) seeks an experienced grant writer and development professional to serve as Grants Manager. Grants are a key revenue stream supporting the work of Asian Law Caucus to protect and defend the legal and civil rights of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, with emphasis on underserved low-income and immigrant communities.

Grants managers are responsible for grant writing and grants management efforts to secure and maintain foundation, government, and corporate grants and contracts and other development writing to support ALC’s mission. This role involves conducting funder research, coordinating grant application and management processes, including writing and/or editing proposals and reports, administrative tasks related to tracking submissions, and managing grants in our donor database and project management tools. Grants managers are content specialists on a selection of ALC’s programs and issue areas and hold a related portfolio of grants. Grants managers collaborate with interest holders across the organization, including leadership, program, finance, and other development staff members to gather information and materials for proposals, reports, and other written materials. This includes coordinating with the Director of Institutional Partnerships and other staff at ALC to ensure compliance with funding requirements, such as completing grant deliverables, financial reporting, and ongoing tracking to demonstrate the impact of funding. We are hiring for a third grants manager to join our team.

    The Organization

Founded in 1972, the Asian Law Caucus is the nation’s first legal and civil rights organization serving low-income Asian and Pacific Islander communities. We bring together legal services, community empowerment, and policy advocacy to fight for immigrant justice, economic security, and a stronger, multiracial democracy. We are committed to serving the vast diversity of communities of Asian descent, including Arab, Middle Eastern, and Muslim communities. Our fights for justice and equity are deeply informed by and in solidarity with fights for liberation by and for Black, Indigenous, and Latinx communities.

Our growing staff works collaboratively across six issue areas. Our work is rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area and California and expands to states across the country, including places where immigrant, Asian, Arab, Middle Eastern, and Pacific Islander communities are rapidly growing.
