    Position Summary

    Taproot Earth is seeking an experienced, creative and innovative Website & Digital Infrastructure Manager to manage TE’s effective broad reaching and engaging website for diverse audiences and to prototype digital infrastructure for movement archiving and communication. The optimal candidate will be a tech-savvy digital architect with a passion for justice and a commitment to excellence.

    The Website Content Manager will oversee the management, optimization, and security of the full TE website to drive engagement, visibility, and communication accessible to grassroots audiences, political leaders and philanthropy. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and creativity to ensure the website reflects TE’s mission and meets the needs of a global audience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Website Management: Maintain, update, and optimize the organization's website using WebFlo and other content management system tools as necessary.
    • Content Strategy: Collaborate with communication and program teams to develop and implement content strategies that align with organizational goals.
    • Technical Optimization: Ensure the website is fast, secure, and responsive, with minimal downtime.
    • SEO & Analytics: Implement SEO best practices and utilize analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.) to monitor performance, traffic and suggest improvements.
    • Digital Security: Oversee website security, including updates, patches, backups, and protection against vulnerabilities.
    • Content Governance & Editorial Standards: Set and enforce content governance policies to guarantee consistency, accuracy and alignment with Taproot Earth’s mission.
    • Integration Management: Support and enhance CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot), email marketing platforms and donation/payment processing tools.
    • A/B Testing & Conversion Optimization: Perform A/B testing on a regular basis and enhance website components to increase conversion rates for key actions such as donations, sign-ups, and engagement.
    • Coding Proficiency: Utilize PHP, SQL, CSS, and other programming languages for customizations and technical problem-solving.
    • Trend Awareness: Stay updated on the latest web design and development trends to keep our website innovative and engaging.
    • Accessibility Compliance: Ensure the website adheres to accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) to reach diverse audiences.
    • Content Governance & Editorial Standards: Set and enforce content governance policies to guarantee consistency, accuracy and alignment with Taproot Earth’s mission.
    • Integration Management: Support and enhance CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot), email marketing platforms and donation/payment processing tools.
    • A/B Testing & Conversion Optimization: Perform A/B testing on a regular basis and enhance website components to increase conversion rates for key actions such as donations, sign-ups, and engagement.
    • Collaboration: Work with internal teams and external vendors to enhance user experience and align website functions with organizational objectives.
    • Digital Network Infrastructure Development: Research and develop prototypes of digital network infrastructure that can foster safe, secure, and robust communications across movements and communities.
    • Travel: Attend conferences, training, and team retreats as required (approximately 3-5 trips annually).

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • 7+ years of experience managing websites, including CMS platforms like WebPro.
    • Strong knowledge of PHP, SQL, CSS, HTML, and related web languages.
    • Expertise in SEO, website analytics, and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
    • Proven experience in digital security and managing secure online environments.
    • Bachelor's degree (or comparable work history equivalent) in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
    • Familiarity with website accessibility standards and compliance.
    • Commitment to a practice of building content and systems are accessible to all people

    Preferred:

    • Experience working with non-profits or advocacy organizations.
    • Proficiency in additional coding languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python).
    • Proficient experience with graphic design and digital products.
    • Knowledge of international digital marketing trends and tools.
    • Demonstrated commitment to climate justice or equity-focused initiatives.
