Coding Education Coordinator – Farmington Correctional Center (Farmington, MO)

Location: Farmington Correctional Center, Farmington, Missouri

    Organization: Unlocked Labs

    Position Type: Full-Time

    Overview

Unlocked Labs is seeking a passionate and mission-driven Coding Education Coordinator to lead our innovative coding and career readiness program at Farmington Correctional Center. This role is ideal for someone with a background in adult education, higher education, nonprofit leadership, or social justice advocacy who is eager to make a direct impact on the lives of incarcerated individuals by helping them develop skills for meaningful employment and successful reentry.

This is more than a classroom role—it's an opportunity to reshape lives, strengthen communities, and contribute to a smarter, more equitable justice system. You’ll manage the on-site delivery of our coding curriculum, coordinate career readiness programming, and build bridges with workforce development partners to ensure lasting outcomes for participants.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the onsite coding education program, overseeing daily classroom operations and maintaining a positive and professional learning environment within the correctional facility.
    • Support teaching assistants in delivering a high-quality coding curriculum that mirrors current industry practices and standards.
    • Facilitate career readiness training, including resume writing, interview skills, and professional communication tailored for returning citizens.
    • Coordinate volunteers and mentors, ensuring consistent and supportive engagement with program participants.
    • Provide post-program support, helping students transition into the workforce with job application assistance, interview preparation, and reentry navigation for up to one year after release.
    • Collaborate with local workforce development boards and employers to align training with market demands and create employment pathways for graduates.
    • Monitor and report program outcomes, tracking participant progress and producing reports that highlight success stories and measurable impact.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Education, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, or a related field — or equivalent experience in adult/higher education, workforce development, or reentry services.
    • At least three years of experience in job readiness, nonprofit program coordination, or related work that centers on adult learners or marginalized populations.
    • A deep commitment to equity, rehabilitation, and systemic change within the criminal justice system.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively in a correctional setting.
    • Self-starter mindset with the flexibility to adapt and grow in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
    • Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to Farmington Correctional Center in Farmington, MO.
