CommonLit is a nonprofit education technology organization dedicated to ensuring that all students, especially students in Title I schools, graduate with the reading, writing, communication, and problem-solving skills they need to be successful in college and beyond. We envision a world where all students get the opportunity to have a world class education. We operate an online reading program for grades 3-12, www.CommonLit.org, that is used by teachers in over 90,000 American schools.
Since 2015, CommonLit has offered free literacy resources to students and teachers. CommonLit’s reading program has become widely implemented in schools and districts across the United States. Since 2017, CommonLit’s Partnerships Team has also sold premium instructional resources and services to schools and districts that are looking to seamlessly and effectively roll out CommonLit’s reading program to their teachers. In this role, the District Success Account Manager will work closely with CommonLit’s partner schools and districts to ensure customer success and satisfaction.
More specifically, the District Success Account Manager will start the year by leading onboarding and virtual professional development sessions for administrators and teachers in partner districts. Throughout the school year, this person will monitor usage data and proactively troubleshoot technical and instructional challenges to ensure that our partners fully and effectively implement CommonLit’s digital program. Towards the end of each school year, this person will also be responsible for working with administrators to extend and potentially expand their team’s contract with CommonLit. Performance-based commission is awarded to District Success Account Managers based on their success in renewing and expanding school district contracts with CommonLit.
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of demonstrated success teaching a literacy-based subject (ex: ELA, Social Studies, Reading Intervention) or working for other literacy-based organizations, companies, or instructional programs. The candidate may also have experience in account management, sales, customer service, and/or hospitality.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent writing and oral communication skills, attention to detail, a strong ability to identify and troubleshoot customer roadblocks, experience utilizing a data-driven approach to solve problems, and a hunger to learn quickly. This is a position that offers many opportunities for professional and compensation growth.
