    Position: Legislative Affairs Associate

    Reports to: Senior Director of Policy and Government Relations

    About the Position:

    Legislative Affairs Associate plays a critical role in supporting the development of policy positions, conducting analysis of legislative proposals, and assisting in advocacy efforts to advance the organization's interests. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong research skills, a solid understanding of public policy, and the ability to navigate legislative processes effectively.

    This is a full-time, exempt position with a comprehensive benefits package and an annual salary of $52,000.

    About the Ideal Candidate:

    • You are passionate about policy and love strategy.
    • You have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in policy analysis, legislative affairs, or a related field.
    • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings effectively.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel, Google Drive applications, legislative tracking software, and Internet research tools.
    • Familiar with the legislative process and government institutions and procedures.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise policy documents, briefing materials, and presentations.
    • The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and to handle complex and competing administrative priorities under tight deadlines.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, sound judgement, confidentiality, and discretion.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Passion for WREN’s mission and a commitment to supporting women's rights and empowerment.

    • MEDICAL, DENTAL & VISION: WREN covers 100% of the employee’s premium and 50% of family coverage
    • PAID TIME OFF & HOLIDAY PAY: 10 days for years 1-4 of employment, 15 days for 5+ years of employment, 8 holidays
    • PAID SICK LEAVE: 12 days in one year for employee or caring for family member.
    • DEPENDENT CARE & FSA PLANS: Pay dependent care and medical costs with pre-tax dollars
    • 401K PLAN: Eligible after 1 year of employment with 5% employer match
    • PAID PARENTAL LEAVE: Up to 12 Weeks at 100% pay for birth or adoption of child
    • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Annual allowance for each staff member
