Position Overview:

MacArthur High School is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Indoor Track Coaches to lead our track and field program. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing athletes' skills, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment. As the Indoor Track Coach, you will play a key role in shaping student-athletes' character and performance, contributing to their growth on and off the track.

Girls Indoor Track Coaches will have the option to transition to outdoor track coaches as well and withhold both roles over winter and spring.

Winter

Spring Season

• Head Girls Outdoor Track Coach
• Pay $3,000
• Assistant Girls Outdoor Track Coach
• Pay $2,000
• Strength & Conditioning Coach
• Pay: $1,357

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training and Development:
   • Design and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance athletes' skills in various track and field events, including sprints, distance running, jumps, throws, and relays.
   • Conduct regular and structured practice sessions, focusing on individualized coaching to address specific strengths and areas for improvement.
   • Utilize modern coaching techniques and technology to enhance performance analysis and feedback.
2. Team Management:
   • Create a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes discipline, sportsmanship, and mutual respect.
   • Effectively communicate team goals, expectations, and strategies to athletes, parents, and school administrators.
   • Organize and manage team logistics, including practice schedules, transportation to competitions, and equipment maintenance.
3. Competition Strategy:
   • Develop and implement effective game strategies and tactics for track and field competitions.
   • Analyze opponents and adjust coaching strategies accordingly.
   • Attend and actively participate in league meetings, coordinating with other coaches to ensure a successful and competitive season.
4. Athlete Mentorship and Leadership:
   • Serve as a positive role model, instilling values of integrity, perseverance, and teamwork among student-athletes.
   • Provide guidance and support to athletes in their academic and personal development.
   • Foster leadership skills among team members, encouraging a sense of responsibility and pride.
5. Community Engagement:
   • Actively engage with the school community, parents, and local organizations to build support for the track and field program.
   • Organize and participate in community events to promote sport and the school's athletic program.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree, with a preference for a degree in sports science, physical education, or a related field.
• Previous coaching experience in track and field at the high school level or higher.
• Strong knowledge of various track and field events and coaching techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Valid coaching certifications and compliance with all relevant state and district requirements.
