    Communications & Marketing Assistant

    Helping a Liberatory, Values-Led Therapy Mental Health Practice Grow

    Who We Are

    Mockingbird Therapy was founded as an act of kindness, hope, and rebellion. We are a feminist mental health practice founded to foster collaborative, community-driven, and sustainable approaches to healing and liberation for survivors of stress, trauma and oppression.

    Your Role

    You’ll help us build trust and community, craft aligned messages, streamline processes, and protect my time so that we can better reach and serve survivors and cycle-breakers.

    We are looking for a values-aligned, organized, proactive, and detail-oriented person who thrives in collaborative and impact-led workspaces. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, knowledge of marketing and strategy, and strengths in social media and audience building.

    Key Responsibilities:

    📣 Marketing & Community Engagement

    • Develop and implement comprehensive content strategies that convey our brand and values consistently and build trust with our community.
    • Keep directories updated and optimized for visibility, and track where referrals and new clients are coming from as part of assessing our ongoing strategy.
    • Set up automations, manage, and track analytics for email marketing campaigns using Convertkit, Instagram, ManyChat and/or other social media tools.
    • Manage and schedule warm, engaging and values-aligned social media content (IG, Pinterest, LinkedIn) using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite and assist with sharing freebies or lead magnets that are visually engaging and brand-consistent for audience and email list growth.
    • Track content trends and collaboration opportunities (e.g., compiling and organizing podcast guest appearance opportunities, local funding and collaboration opportunities)
    • Support podcast production (editing, scheduling guests, creating short-form content).
    • Assist with hosting community and virtual workshops and summits, including event marketing for these (e.g., hosting as lead magnet through Teachable after live).

    🌱 Administrative & Scheduling Support

    • Assist with other tasks as helpful (e.g., helping to create on-brand workbooks, handouts and resources in Canva or Adobe).
    • Triage and organize incoming emails, responding to straightforward inquiries
    • Offer clinical administrative support to facilitate client relationships and communication (e.g., handling occasional rescheduling requests and updating schedule).
    • Attend meetings with Dr. Layton and/or other members of our team.

    Qualifications:

    • Attention to detail, creative problem solving and communication skills, and an openness to learning, feedback and growth.
    • Able to take initiative and work independently to meet collaborative deadlines/goals.
    • Social/interpersonal skills conducive to a collaborative, small-team environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree (or another relevant/equivalent form of training or experience) in Marketing, Communications, or a related/relevant field.
    • 1 year+ of experience in a digital marketing or communications role
    • Willingness to adhere to HIPAA privacy protections (training will be provided).
    • English language proficiency with professional written and oral communication skills.
    • Access to a computer with reliable internet connection, webcam, and microphone.
    • Social media management experience (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest) and strong knowledge of social media marketing tools.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Experience in email marketing and automations (e.g., Convertkit, ManyChat and/or equivalent), lead generation/funnels for growing and nurturing community.

    Preferred:

    • Familiarity or past experience with podcast creation, development, editing and marketing.
    • Familiarity or past experience with program launches or similar launches/marketing.
    • General knowledge of branding and design principles.
    • Personal investment in reducing mental health stigma, finding creative ways to meet people where they are at, and to contribute to improving care/access with consideration for the collective and systemic factors can impact mental health and wellbeing.
    • An interest in growing communities and support for survivors and cycle-breakers.
