POSITION

The FP&A Manager plays an integral role in driving the foundation’s financial strategy and operational planning. This position leads the financial planning and analysis function, ensuring the effective allocation and stewardship of financial resources. The FP&A Manager aligns financial operations with the foundation’s mission to foster a more creative, equitable and sustainable future, delivering data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Financial Planning: Drive financial planning processes to support the foundation’s strategic initiatives and long-term goals.

• Lead the development of annual budgets, multi-year financial forecasts and scenario planning, ensuring alignment with mission-driven objectives.
• Partner with program teams to integrate financial analysis with grantmaking priorities and impact-driven initiatives.
• Collaborate with operational center leadership to align operational budgets and capital plans with organizational objectives.

Financial Analysis and Reporting: Deliver actionable insights through robust analysis and reporting.

• Develop and present comprehensive reports and dashboards that highlight programmatic impact, center operations and administrative costs.
• Conduct variance and trend analyses, providing senior leadership with data-driven recommendations for optimization.
• Build financial models to evaluate new opportunities, major grants and capital projects.

Grantmaking and Operational Support: Provide financial expertise to ensure effective grantmaking and operational sustainability.

• Oversee accurate financial tracking and reporting of grant allocations, disbursements and outcomes.
• Collaborate with operational center teams to manage cost structures, optimize resource allocation and ensure financial sustainability.
• Support the evaluation of shared resource investments, including competitive capital funds and local sponsorships.

Process Improvement and Systems: Advance financial processes to enable real-time data access and seamless integration across programs, centers and administrative functions.

• Collaborate with internal teams for resource planning and informed decision-making.
• Leverage and optimize financial systems to enhance efficiency in forecasting, reporting and scenario planning.

Compliance and Governance: Ensure alignment with accounting standards and organizational accountability.

• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with the Controller to uphold internal and external audit standards.
• Prepare financial insights and materials for board presentations, ensuring clarity, accuracy and transparency.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field; CPA certification or MBA preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally within a nonprofit, foundation or mission-driven organization.
• Experience with grantmaking and/or center operations preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights; exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI or similar platforms).
• Familiarity with nonprofit accounting and financial principles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex financial and operational concepts to nonfinancial audiences, including the Board of Trustees and the Audit and Finance committees.
• Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
• High integrity and accountability.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Anticipated salary range is $112,000-$140,000, and the final offer will depend on experience.
• Industry-leading benefits, including a 15% employer contribution to 401(k), health insurance, four weeks paid vacation with additional time off and matching gift benefits of up to $20,000 per year, all to support employees’ well-being, productivity and engagement.
