    We are in search of a Proposal Writer for an International Humanitarian Aid Nonprofit Organization in either Washington D.C. or Phoenix, AZ. This is a Full-Time, Hybrid, Direct Hire role, with an annual salary range of $95,000-110,000 DOE plus benefits.

    LOCATION: Washington D.C. or Phoenix, AZ

    POSITION TITLE: Public Resource Development Proposal Writer

    SCHEDULE: Full-Time (40 hrs./wk.)

    DURATION: Direct Hire

    SALARY: $90,000 - 110,000 (DOE) plus benefits

    Is This Your Dream Job? The Proposal Writer will help secure funding and resources from public funders to carry out the organization's mission and strategic priorities by writing compelling, competitive, compliant proposals and providing other writing support as needed.

    Our Ideal Candidate:

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 5+ years of relevant experience in business development, international development, and/or humanitarian assistance.
    • Success serving as the lead writer on multi-million-dollar proposals in the international development and/or humanitarian assistance sectors. Experience serving as the lead writer on winning multi-million-dollar USAID proposals preferred
    • Good understanding of USAID priorities, strategies, policies, rules, and regulations
    • Familiarity with one or more technical areas relevant to the organization's expertise and program model, such as health, education, economic empowerment, resilience, relief, humanitarian assistance, and WASH
    • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time per year
    • Fluency in English is required; fluency in additional language(s) spoken in countries where the organization has offices is a plus
    • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software
    • Passion for international humanitarian aid work through a Jesus-centric lens

    How You Will Spend Your Day:

    • Serve as the lead writer on proposals and concept notes, with a focus on large, complex, high-priority bids such as multi-million bids to USAID
    • Serving as a lead writer involves taking the lead in writing most of the technical proposal; actively participating in technical design meetings; collecting input from technical design leads, country office staff, section writers, partners, consultants, and others, and incorporating input into a cohesive draft; revising drafts based on reviewer feedback; and ensuring the technical proposal is compliant, competitive, consistent, and written in a single, compelling voice
    • Serve as a supporting writer, reviewer, and editor as needed on proposals and concept notes where other team members serve as the leader writer
    • Provide capacity building on proposal writing to other team members as relevant
    • Provide other writing support as needed. This might include drafting responses to USAID “requests for information” and developing capacity statements and marketing materials
    • Other duties as assigned
