    Description

    Description: Applicant will provide non-fiction video production and post-production including camera operation, production assistance, footage ingest, media management, footage review, creation of string-outs and selects, construction of sequences, creation of graphics, color-correction, audio mixing, exporting and publishing of content, contributing to video projects impacting education, the arts, social justice and areas aligned with Truth & Documentary mission, available at www.truthanddocumentary.org. Truth & Documentary will provide education, encouragement, and opportunities to develop skills related to non-fiction video production in a positive work environment, as well as introductions to peers in the community, guidance in developing applicant interests, and use of equipment for personal and freelance projects.

    Requirements: Experience contributing to video projects, working professionally with clients and collaborators. Experience with DSLR and other video camera operation, and video editing - Adobe Premiere and After Effects, as well as documentary scripting. English fluency. Based in Chicago or willing to relocate, and to work at office and/or on-location 80% of time. Able to balance taking initiative with being a team player, as well as the idealism and pragmatism required to sustain a career in the social impact sector.

    Organization Description: Truth & Documentary is a production company based in Chicago that serves nonprofits, artists, journalism outlets and other documentary filmmakers to fund original documentaries designed to inspire audiences to question the familiar and build empathy, founded in 2012. Truth and Documentary is currently a five-person operation, complemented by a pool of contractors, based out of a 2,000 square foot production facility in Chicago’s south loop.
