Finance Lead

We’re looking for a Finance Lead to take full ownership of our financial operation You’ll be the go-to person for all things finance—managing accounts receivable and payable, maintaining QuickBooks Online, and ensuring consistent communication with the team.

You’ll also play a key role in monitoring project budgets, supporting team members with financial insights, and keeping our accounting platforms up to date. No payroll or employees—just contractors. Taxes and compliance are straightforward.

About You:

• You are rigorous, detail oriented and ready to be super granular around our financial reporting and monitoring.
• You love to put the human back in transactional tasks like client billing and project budget reviews.
• You are proactive and responsive with the ability to bring joy and clarity to financials.
• You work easily with teams who may have less financial acumen than you do.
• You communicate clearly and easily about timelines and challenges.
• You have the flexibility to work remotely, collaboratively, and responsively with our consulting team and project partners.
• You have at least 5 years of experience in finance and are savvy about online financial tools (like Gusto, Stripe, etc.).
• You are familiar with (and perhaps love) our home state of California.
• You share our commitment to revealing, healing, and transforming the ways inequities show up in our systems—including our internal systems.
• You bring qualities like empathy, connectedness, creativity, and a willingness to explore and experiment when tackling new challenges.

This is a contract position. We can offer an initial hourly fee of $75 per hour. Monthly hours range from 15-20 hours / monthly, depending on project demands and your availability.
