    Description

We’re building a team to work on the most pressing political problems of our time. Our work supports the progressive movement at-large building real and lasting power for groups-registering the historically disenfranchised constituencies to vote, protecting women’s reproductive health, and turning out young women to vote.

As a Canvass Director, you and the canvass staff you hire and train will have an important impact on these issues through face-to-face conversations with people on their doorsteps. We build the people power it takes to overcome powerful opposition standing in the way of solutions – you’ll fundraise and mobilize people to get involved. Being a Canvass Office Director requires that you work independently, exercise good judgment and work hard to meet your office’s staffing, campaign and fieldwork goals.

Apply to work with us if you want to:

    • Educate and engage the public on campaigns like protecting women’s reproductive health
    • Build support and fundraise for leading non-profit groups
    • Hire, train and manage your own team
    • Mobilize public support for issues you care about and make a real and lasting difference

    Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and who want to work hard to make lasting, positive change on important issues.

    Training

We have an excellent training program, which starts with hands-on training. You’ll also be exposed to organizers and groups working to support the progressive movement on the whole.

Throughout the year, new and experienced canvass directors may have the opportunity to attend advanced trainings on staff management, canvassing, campaign strategy, and other skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Office Operations & Management: Oversee and manage the day-to-day canvassing office operations, ensuring efficiency, organization, and productivity.
    • Staff Training & Oversight: provide ongoing training to canvassing employees, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge required for their roles. This includes regular feedback sessions, skill-building workshops, and performance evaluations.
    • Fundraising & Field Work: Lead and participate in fundraising and mobilization efforts multiple times a week. Ensure that the team is meeting fundraising goals and problem solve any issues that arise in the field.
    • Strategic Planning: Collaborate closely with our leadership team to strategize and plan fundraising campaigns.
    • Team Leadership & Motivation: Foster a positive, motivating, and inclusive team environment. Recognize and reward outstanding performance and address any team conflicts or challenges proactively.
    • Reporting & Analytics: Regularly track, analyze, and report on canvassing metrics to our partner organizations.
    • You will be at the helm of a canvassing team that focuses on talking to people, making a compelling case for their engagement. You will make a difference and change our world for the better. You will meet great people every day knowing that you’re raising support and money for groups you believe in working on issues you care about.
