    Description

Sea turtle conservation Volunteer opportunity in Veracruz, Mexico

Fundación Yepez A.C. is a non-profit organization that has been protecting sea turtles in veracruz Mexico for 57 years. We are a grassroots organization and we need all the help we can get to be able to protect this endangered species and implement all of the eco-projects that we run. Thousands of sea turtles nest on our beautiful beaches during the season (April to October) and we work in many different ways to conserve and protect them. Whilst most of the work is hands on work on the beach, such as patrolling, protecting and nest marking and rescue, there are also many other tasks such as administration that we need help with at our centre. We run reforestation projects, community projects, environmental education and recycling programs, so variety is definitely part of the job.

The cost for food and accommodation is USD$90/week, for each volunteer and there is no other fee, however all other expenses such as travel etc. must be covered by the volunteer. Please find more information about us on our website www.tortugasfundacionyepez.com (English/Volunteers) and contact us with any questions you might have on contactofundacionyepez@gmail.com The only requirements are good health, independency and a desire to help protect sea turtles and their environment and of course being in Mexico, speaking Spanish does help!
