    Hi there, 

    The Regent Park Film Festival returns this summer with another amazing volunteer opportunity! 

    We’re looking for volunteers to help with our 11th annual summer film series Under the Stars! 

    Join us if you are interested in expanding your network, building connections within and outside your community, and enjoying our awesome film selections at our 11th Annual Outdoor Summer Screening Series: Under the Star. Every Wednesday, from July 10th to July 24th, we are excited to present 3 screenings in Regent Park across Daniel Spectrum (600 Dundas St. East)

    What is Under the Star? 

    Under the Star is RPFF’s Annual Summer Event which includes various family-friendly activities, performances, and free film screenings at sundown. Since we collaborate with local partners and organizations for our pre-shows. Under the Star is not just a great event for people to gather and have fun with their loved ones; it also allows them to immerse themselves in the rich and diverse culture - the special feature of the neighborhood. 

    What does the volunteer do? 

    Volunteer duties generally include (Different shifts will have different responsibilities)

    • Transporting necessary equipment and materials from Daniel Spectrum to Regent Park
    • Distributing flyers and putting up an Under the Star poster
    • Setting up and tabling for the merch and concessions
    • Making popcorn, handing out drinks
    • Cleaning up 

    Volunteer Opportunities that are available:

    • Outreach
    • Event Day
    • Post Event Day Clean Up

    Volunteer requirements: 

    • We welcome people of all ages
    • Mandatory orientation session before the Film Festival 

    As a small team, we rely on volunteers of all ages each year to make Under the Stars a success!

    VAACT: 

    RPFF is proud to be one of the members of VAACT, a program to recognize volunteers who contribute to multiple arts and culture events throughout the year in the City of Toronto. RPFF requires volunteers to complete a minimum of 5 volunteer shifts during the VAACT term from November 1st through October 31st to successfully complete service with us.

    Regent Park Film Festival is a non-profit arts and culture organization dedicated to showcasing local and international independent works from and about Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) communities.The films we present break stereotypes and show that no one place or person has just one story. We are committed to ensuring that art is free and accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial status. As Toronto’s longest-running, free community film festival, we hold a special space in Canada’s largest and oldest public housing neighbourhood. RPFF is a staple in the community.
