    Description

    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    Location: Remote

    Time commitment: 6 hours a week

    Description: We are searching for a qualified and committed Grant Writer to become part of our team as a virtual volunteer. In this position, you will have a vital role in obtaining funding to back our organization's programs and initiatives. While working from a distance, you will be responsible for researching funding options, creating persuasive grant requests, and working together with colleagues to meet our funding objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct research to find suitable grant opportunities that match the organization's goals and mission.

    • Compose and create persuasive grant proposals and applications, making sure they align with the criteria and standards set by funding entities.

    • Work with program managers and team members to collect necessary information and data for grant proposals.

    • Revise grant proposals for accuracy, clarity, and consistency through editing and proofreading.

    • Manage a schedule of grant due dates and guarantee punctual submission of all applications and reports.

    • Monitor and document the advancement of provided grants, including ongoing discussions with donors.

    • Take part in online meetings to talk about funding tactics and give progress reports on grant writing tasks.

    • Keep yourself updated on grant funding trends and regularly search for new funding opportunities.

    • Help build connections with donors in order to improve chances of receiving funding in the future

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a Grant Writer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful grant writer campaign.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.

    • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

    • Passion for STEM education and commitment to promoting STEM literacy and application.

    • Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage with a diverse global audience.
