    Volunteer Environmental Peace Fellow

    About Us:

    The Peace Economy Project (PEP) is dedicated to promoting peace and economic justice through research, advocacy, and community engagement. We are expanding our initiatives to include environmental sustainability, recognizing its critical role in achieving lasting peace and economic stability.

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Volunteer Environmental Fellow to join our team. The Environmental Fellow will focus on researching and advocating for the integration of environmental sustainability into our peace and economic justice initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful change by addressing the interconnected challenges of environmental degradation, social justice, and economic stability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Research and Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth research on the impacts of environmental degradation on peace and economic stability.

    • Analyze current environmental policies and propose improvements that align with PEP’s mission.

    • Identify and evaluate best practices for sustainable development and resource management.

    Advocacy and Policy Development:

    • Develop policy briefs and recommendations to promote environmental sustainability within peace and economic justice frameworks.

    • Engage with policymakers, stakeholders, and community leaders to advocate for sustainable environmental practices.

    • Monitor and report on legislative developments related to environmental issues.

    Community Engagement and Education:

    • Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and educational programs on environmental sustainability.

    • Develop educational materials and campaigns to raise awareness about the importance of environmental sustainability.

    • Initiate and support community-based environmental projects, such as tree planting, clean-up drives, and sustainability workshops.

    Collaboration and Partnerships:

    • Work collaboratively with other fellows and team members to integrate environmental considerations into their projects and initiatives.

    • Build and maintain partnerships with environmental organizations, experts, and community groups to enhance the impact of PEP’s environmental initiatives.

    • Participate in interdisciplinary research and advocacy efforts to address the multifaceted nature of environmental, social, and economic issues.

    Qualifications:

    Educational Background: Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Policy, or a related field preferred.

    Experience: Previous experience in environmental research, policy analysis, or advocacy is highly desirable.

    Skills: Strong research, analytical, and writing skills; excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.

    Passion: Deep commitment to environmental sustainability, social justice, and economic stability.

    Flexibility: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively; adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
