    Description

Fundraiser Needed for Advice, Guidance, Help on how to do fundraising

Hi! We are a new, grassroots nonprofit and we don't know much about fundraising. As the Executive Director, I should but I don't understand the way to talk to people about asking for money for our causes or the way to get more people interested in our stuff without spending money on galas and events. We don't have all the funds needed for our program we are launching in the summer/fall (Youth Urban farm and Bike Repair Program -- https://cibusmission.org/youth-programs ) but when I talk to people online or in person, they really like the idea of it and want to donate their time, but not funds.

Maybe there are different places or sections of businesses I should approach? Maybe I need to ask or say different things? I don't know. I am not from the nonprofit world so this is very new to me and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. If you are a retired person who has raised money for something that you thought was important, I would love to hear from you! If you want to try and be a fundraiser and want the experience of working with a nonprofit, ,I would love to hear from you! If you just want to tell me a couple of thing that I should be working on, please, let me know!

I really want these programs to succeed and need your help to get there from here! Thank you!
