    Description

    Marketing and Sales Coordinator

Trama Textiles is a socially responsible weaving school and cooperative dedicated to empowering women artisans in Guatemala, particularly those who have faced significant challenges, including widowhood and violence during the civil war. Our artisans are primarily widowed women and survivors of rape and violence, and through our work, we provide them with a platform for healing and economic independence.

Our mission is not only to promote traditional weaving techniques but also to uplift these women by creating sustainable livelihoods. Many customers are drawn to our products because of the profound human stories behind them; purchasing from Trama Textiles means supporting resilience, empowerment, and community.

Through our Almaya Fund, we offer essential support to these women and their families, including scholarships for students who are relatives of our artisans. By promoting our handcrafted goods, we help these women regain their dignity and rebuild their lives.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to coordinate our promotional efforts, increase weekly sales, and enhance our visibility on social media. This role includes taking engaging photos of our products, developing effective marketing strategies, and sharing the impactful stories of our artisans and our mission.

Role Overview: As a Sales and Marketing Volunteer at Trama Textiles, you will play a crucial role in promoting our mission and products, supporting our artisans, and helping to generate funds for our initiatives. This position is ideal for someone passionate about social impact, marketing, and community engagement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Promote Products:
      • Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase sales of our handcrafted textiles.
      • Create engaging content that highlights the stories behind our products and the artisans who create them.
    2. Social Media Management:
      • Manage and grow our social media presence on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and others.
      • Create and schedule posts that showcase products, promote campaigns, and share artisan stories.
    3. Photography:
      • Take high-quality photos of our products for use in marketing materials and social media.
      • Capture behind-the-scenes images that tell the story of our artisans and their craft.
    4. Fundraising Support:
      • Assist in developing fundraising initiatives and campaigns to support the Almaya Fund and our artisans.
      • Engage with potential donors and supporters to promote awareness and encourage contributions.
    5. Customer Engagement:
      • Build relationships with customers and potential clients through outreach and follow-ups.
      • Gather feedback from customers to improve products and services.
    6. Market Research:
      • Conduct research to identify trends and opportunities in the market for handcrafted goods.
      • Analyze competitor strategies to inform our marketing efforts.
    7. Collaboration:
      • Work closely with the Program Coordinator to align marketing strategies with overall organizational goals.
      • Participate in team meetings to brainstorm ideas and share updates on projects.

    Requirements:

    • Fluency in English and at least intermediate Spanish; basic Spanish is acceptable if the candidate is committed to learning.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and marketing techniques.
    • Passion for social justice and supporting marginalized communities.
