    Hennepin County Library’s mission is to inspire, facilitate, and celebrate lifelong

    learning. Our 41 libraries, website and outreach services serve residents in

    every corner of Hennepin County. In addition to a collection of almost 5

    million physical books, CDs and DVDs, you can access more than

    400,000 eBooks and audiobooks from almost any device.

    Minneapolis Central Library is in need of mending volunteers to help program

    participants with basic repairs during our Drop-In Mending Program. 

    Location and Hours:

    Minneapolis Central Library islocated downtown at 300 Nicollet Mall Minneapolis, MN 55401.  The

    Mending Program occurs the first Thursday of each month, 8:30am-10:30am.  

    About the volunteer position type:

    This is an advertisement for an unpaid, volunteer position. Please click here to apply for this unpaid, volunteer opportunity.

    In this volunteer position, you will:        

    • Help welcome participants into the program space 
    • Work with participants and other program staff to troubleshoot their items and suggest repair
    • methods   
    • Learn and share basic mending skills, assisting participants directly with mending as needed 
    • Help put away materials and supplies at the end of the program

    Need to have:  

    • The ability to work and engage with a wide range of people in a welcoming and inclusive manner 
    • An interest in learning/developing/using and sharing basic sewing, mending and craft techniques
    • Training provided by Program Coordinator, supervision by designated Hennepin County Library staff member.
