    Description

    Volunteers Coordinator Position

PRESENTATION OF NGO “JUSTICE AND DIGNITY FOR THE WOMEN OF SAHEL”

Justice and Dignity for the Women of Sahel (JDWS) is an international NGO created in 2019

which objective is to fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and to promote women's

rights in the Sahel. Our vision is to create a peaceful and conducive Sahel free of gender-based

    violence.

JDWS contributes to breaking the silence and lifting taboos to better inform about gender-

based violence, to assist women and girls in the Sahel and loudly denounce inequality and

    social justice.

We are present in six (06) countries in the Sahel: Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Niger,

Senegal and Chad aim to build a network of communities where solidarity, sharing and

exchange promotes positive human values that take into account the differences between

women and men and help build a non-violent society.

The West and Central Africa (WCA) region, one of the poorest and most fragile regions in

the world, is affected by a combination of major protracted and recurrent humanitarian

crises driven by conflicts and exacerbated by food insecurity, chronic undernutrition,

natural hazards, recurrent epidemics, often linked to poor sanitary conditions in

displacement contexts, and the growing effects of climate change. Widespread violence

and violations of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) are resulting in large-scale

displacement, disruption of livelihoods, and lack of access to basic services. The civilian

population is increasingly victims of targeted attacks against its own integrity and livelihood.

These attacks include sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), abuses, kidnappings, and

child recruitment. In addition, in the Sahel region, women and girls work 18 hours

per day without any compensation. Unfortunately, this situation is aggravated by social,

and cultural norms that deny women and young girls of their rights and dignity.

    Job Descriptions:

    1. Organizes, coordinates, and manages the recruitment of volunteers for the board, various committees, departments, and association programs.

    2. Works with social, civic, and local organizations to develop partnerships and develop and utilize volunteers.

    3. Develops and implement training programs for all volunteers.

    4. Maintains updated records on all volunteers.

    5. Set up and attends volunteer meetings. Reports to staff on volunteer activities as needed.

    6. Recommends and develops ongoing volunteer utilization.

    7. Develops and implement a volunteer recognition program.

    Competencies:

    1. Communication Proficiency.

    2. Collaboration Skills.

    3. Leadership.

    4. Organizational Skills.

    5. Presentation Skills.

    6. Teamwork Orientation.

    7. Technical Capacity.

    8. Time Management.
