    About Us:

    Doors of Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young adults aged 18-21 transitioning out of foster care. Our program provides housing, life skills training, and mentorship to help residents build a foundation for independence.

    We are seeking a competent, committed and compassionate House Manager to live on-site and work closely with the Executive Director in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment. This is a volunteer position offering significant benefits, including free housing in a private room with an attached bathroom and no utility payments.

    Compensation:

    This is a volunteer position, but the compensation includes:

    • Free housing in a private room with an attached bathroom.
    • No utility costs, including electricity, water, and internet.
    • An estimated value of $15,000 annually.

    While there is no monetary salary, this arrangement provides substantial financial benefits for the right candidate.

    Key Responsibilities:

    As a live-in volunteer, your consistent presence and support will help create a stable, positive environment for residents. The following tasks and time commitments are suggested to align with program goals:

    Daily Presence (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM):

    • Be available in the home to provide guidance, oversight, and support to residents.
    • Assist with transportation to school, work, and medical appointments as needed.

    On-Call Availability (Evenings, Nights, and Weekends):

    • Be available to respond to resident emergencies or concerns if you are on-site.

    Case Management Services:

    • Meet with residents individually at least once a week to discuss goals, progress, and challenges.
    • Provide guidance and support to help residents achieve independence.
    • Maintain accurate records of resident meetings and progress.

    Life Skills Training:

    • Facilitate workshops and one-on-one sessions on life skills such as budgeting, cooking, job readiness, and more.
    • Encourage and monitor residents' participation in these activities to promote independence.

    Household Management:

    • Oversee shared living spaces, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and harmony among residents.
    • Promote mutual respect and enforce house rules consistently and fairly.
    • Monitor chore schedules and encourage active participation in household upkeep.

    Collaboration with Executive Director:

    • Work closely with the Program Executive Director, who will provide additional case management and life skills training.
    • Collaborate to develop and implement new initiatives to support residents’ success.
    • Maintain open communication and provide regular updates on residents and household dynamics.

    Qualifications:

    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, child development, or a related field is preferred.
    • Prior experience working with young adults, particularly those from foster care or similar backgrounds, is strongly preferred.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
    • A genuine desire to work with this population and contribute to their success.
    • Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
