    About Wekume

    Wekume, which translates to "Protect Yourself" in Luganda, is a volunteer-driven startup initiative focused on enhancing reproductive health among university students in Uganda. The organization provides essential reproductive health services and information through a mobile application, effectively addressing stigma, limited access to services, and misinformation. Key features of the application include SafeChat, which facilitates anonymous consultations, QuickTest, a diagnostic tool, a marketplace, and various innovative resources designed to empower students to make informed health decisions.

    As a developing startup, Wekume relies on passionate, self-motivated individuals to facilitate its growth and development. All roles within the organization are volunteer-based and remote, offering a significant opportunity for individuals to contribute to a transformative mission that positively impacts lives.

    Role Overview:

    The Social Media Manager will handle Wekume’s online presence, engaging with the audience and building a strong online community.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and schedule posts for Wekume’s social media platforms.
    • Engage with followers and respond to queries promptly.
    • Create campaigns to raise awareness about reproductive health and Wekume’s services.
    • Monitor social media analytics and optimize strategies for growth.

    Requirements:

    1. Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
    2. Creative writing and content creation skills.
    3. Passion for engaging with young people and promoting health education.
    4. Ability to work flexibly and adapt to fast-paced environments.
