    Description

    Join InReach’s Resource Team and play a critical role in expanding and maintaining the world’s first open source verified LGBTQ+ resource platform. As a Mexico Resources Volunteer, you’ll help ensure that LGBTQ+ community members in Mexico and along the U.S.-Mexico border can access essential support, from affirming immigration services and safe housing to mental health support, gender-affirming care, and more. Allies are welcome to apply!

    Time Commitment Required

    • Minimum of 10 hours per month (remote, unpaid)

    Responsibilities

    • Reverification: Conduct online, phone, and email research in Spanish to ensure existing resource listings are accurate and current. Update data in English using InReach’s data portal.
    • Vetting: Research and contact new direct service providers in Spanish to verify they meet InReach’s vetting standards, then if applicable, add the new organization to InReach using our data portal.
    • Support with ad hoc tasks, such as data entry, community outreach, and translation (Spanish) as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish
    • At least 18 years old
    • Reliable access to a computer and internet connection for completing remote tasks
    • Willing and able to write in gender-inclusive language.
    • Comfortable using online communication tools (e.g., G Suite, POINT, Discord, Zoom)
    • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
    • Passionate about LGBTQ+ rights, language justice, and refugee support
