Position: Voice Actors for Podcast - Protecting Kids Online! (Volunteer)

Location: Remote/Virtual, Anywhere in Canada
About Us
DEFEND is a 100% volunteer-run, international nonprofit organization committed to reducing online risks for children and vulnerable individuals. As part of our mission, we have created a podcast series titled "Dark Side of the Web", a scripted audio drama that raises awareness of online dangers in a powerful, accessible way. The first season, consisting of 13 episodes (each around 10 minutes), is currently available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and YouTube (animated). We are now preparing for Season 2 and seeking voice actors to bring these important stories to life.
Role Description
We are looking for volunteer voice actors to participate in the recording of our upcoming podcast episodes. Whether you are a professional actor or new to voice acting, this role provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the DEFEND mission. Actors will work remotely, recording lines for short, scripted episodes that highlight online risks faced by children and vulnerable individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Voice Acting: Perform scripted roles, conveying emotion and intensity to represent various characters.
- Rehearsals: Attend virtual rehearsals as needed to ensure a polished final product.
- Collaboration: Work with the podcast production team, including writers, producers, and casting directors, to align on the vision for each episode.
Qualifications
- Acting Skills: No prior experience is required, though professional voice actors are preferred. Passion for storytelling and ability to convey emotion vocally is essential.
- Time Commitment for Actors: Able to commit a few hours for recording sessions as required.
- Remote Work Capable: Access to a quiet recording environment and basic recording equipment (microphone, computer) for remote work.
