    Description

    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    Location: Remote

    Time commitment: 2 hours a week 

    Duration: 3 Months 

    Start Date: ASAP

    Description: We seek a Merch Coordinator Volunteer who is creative and pays attention to detail to assist in creating a distinctive range of merchandise that embodies the dynamism and ingenuity of STEM disciplines. This position requires working together with designers, suppliers, and the marketing team to ensure our merchandise store provides top-notch, attractive products that connect with our community and uphold our educational goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Find and select a variety of exciting and creative products to showcase in our store, with a special emphasis on STEM-related items and clothing.

    • Investigate popular STEM topics and ideas to spark fresh product concepts that are in line with our brand and mission.

    • Collaborate closely with designers and suppliers to create distinctive, top-notch products that attract our intended customers.

    • Develop and uphold connections with suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely delivery of products.

    • Discuss pricing and terms with suppliers to optimize profit without compromising affordability.

    • Suggest and execute fresh concepts for products that connect with our community and help advance our educational objectives.

    • Work with the marketing and events departments to make sure that merchandise is in line with upcoming campaigns and events.

    • Approach merchandise development with a creative and playful mindset, making sure all products showcase the excitement and innovation of STEM fields.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a Merch Coordinator or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

    • Having background in product curation, design, or vendor relations is advantageous.

    • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative strategies.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

    • Passion for STEM education and commitment to promoting STEM literacy and application.

    • Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage with a diverse global audience.
