    Description

Do you want to make a difference in the life of people with Long Covid? And are you skilled in social media? Join the Long Covid Toolkit team as a Volunteer Social Media Manager. We have room for several volunteers that collaboratively manage our social media channels.

    About Us:

The Long Covid Toolkit is a non-profit initiative founded by epidemiologist Joanneke van der Nagel and project manager Edo Plantinga. Our goal is simple: to offer easy-to-understand, evidence-based resources to help people manage Long Covid symptoms. Many of us, including the founders, have lived experiences with Long Covid, making our work deeply personal and meaningful.

    Role Overview:

As a Social Media Manager, you will lead our social media strategy to build community awareness, engage with audiences, and increase the reach of our resources. This is a flexible, remote volunteer opportunity that would suit someone looking to make a positive impact on the Long Covid community.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Develop and implement social media campaigns across platforms like X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
    • Create engaging and informative content (graphics, posts, stories) about current Long Covid research and developments
    • Monitor and respond to messages and comments to foster community engagement
    • Amplify the message of other organizations in the Long Covid space
    • Collaborate with the core team and the other volunteers in this role to ensure messaging is consistent and accurate
    • Work with the crowdfunding team

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Experience with managing social media accounts, either professionally or personally
    • Strong communication skills and creativity
    • Understanding of social media trends and how to engage diverse audiences
    • A passion for health advocacy, particularly in the Long Covid or chronic illness community, is a plus
    • Ability to work independently

    What’s in it for you?

    • The chance to contribute to a meaningful cause that directly supports people living with Long Covid
    • Flexible, remote work environment
    • Join a supportive team driven by shared lived experiences

    Time Commitment:

Roughly 3-10 hours a week, but we’re flexible based on your schedule and energy level (and yeah, we know how that level can fluctuate).

    How to Apply:

Send us a quick email with your resume and a few lines about yourself to edoplantinga@longcovidtoolkit.org. We'd love to hear from you!
