    Communications Capacity Building Member

    FARRMS

    Part-Time | 300 Hours |

    Through the Community Builder Program, the Communications Capacity Building Member assists FARRMS Marketing Manager with various outreach and communications tasks, including; sending emails to farmers and partners, coordinating with farmers, collecting content for their blog, calendar, and social media. The Member assists in planning social media content and managing their media archive. They collaborate with FARRMS staff in creating any new outreach or marketing materials and continue maintaining existing marketing activities.

    Essential Duties Include:

    OUTREACH & COMMUNICATIONS:

    • Assist with sending outreach emails to contact lists promoting upcoming events.
    • Assist with production of 2026 Farmer Calendar by sending outreach emails to farmers and photographers, edit farmer bios to a standard length, and collecting recipes.
    • Contacting and collecting articles from farmers for their monthly Producer’s Perspective blog post series.

    MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA:

    • Assisting in creating and planning social media content.
    • Updating media archive of published articles about FARRMS.\
    • Member will complete all required training, professional development, and Days of Service as determined by Souris Basin Planning Council.

    About the Host Site: FARRMS grows sustainable agriculture and strengthens local food systems in North Dakota and the Red River Valley. FARRMS offers farmer-focused, community-led education, peer support, and microlending. FARRMS emphasizes social, environmental, and economic sustainability and a whole-farm approach to planning and production. FARRMS wants to see more farmers on the land, more sustainable farming practices and more locally-grown food and ag products available in North Dakota. They believe that modeling sustainability means working toward equity and racial justice.
