    About Us

    Monkton Wyld Court is a historic education centre and eco-community offering accommodation, workshops, and events. We host guests, volunteers, and educational groups in a unique rural setting. We are looking for an organised and proactive Office Assistant to support the administrative functions of our community and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

    Role Summary

    As an Office Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient running of the office by handling bookings, assisting with financial records, and providing general administrative support. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable working in a dynamic community environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Administrative Support: Handle general office duties such as responding to emails, answering phone calls, and managing correspondence.
    • Bookings & Guest Management: Process guest reservations, communicate booking policies, and ensure smooth check-ins and check-outs.
    • Finance Assistance: Support basic financial tasks such as invoicing, processing payments, and tracking expenses.
    • Volunteer Coordination: Assist in organising volunteer schedules, maintaining records, and supporting communication with volunteers.
    • Policy & Document Management: Help develop and maintain policies, contracts, and internal documents to support the smooth operation of Monkton Wyld Court.
    • Marketing: Contribute to website updates as needed to promote events and accommodation.
    • Event Support: Assist with logistics for workshops, retreats, and community events.
    • General Office Organisation: Keep the office space tidy and ensure supplies are stocked.

    Requirements

    • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
    • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Basic financial administration experience (preferred but not essential).
    • Comfortable using office software (email, spreadsheets, booking systems).
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.
    • Interest in sustainable living and community-based environments is a plus.
