Friends of the British Overseas Territories (FOTBOT) is seeking dedicated and dynamic individuals to join our Board of Trustees. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our charity as we expand our outreach, strengthen our partnerships, and continue to raise awareness and understanding of the British Overseas Territories across the UK and beyond.

We are particularly seeking applicants who have experience in:

    • Charity governance or leadership
    • Public affairs and policy
    • Fundraising and development
    • Communications and media
    • Law, particularly constitutional or international
    • Lived or professional experience related to the Overseas Territories

Together with fellow Board members, as a Trustee you will act in the Charity's best interests, set the strategy and policies, make key decisions and oversee the management of the Charity.

    What’s Involved

Trustees are expected to attend quarterly board meetings (virtual and in-person), contribute to strategic decision-making, and actively support the charity’s growth and impact. Our Trustees can work and attend meetings remotely. This is a voluntary position but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

For an informal chat and discussion please reach out to the Secretary to the Board of Trustees Laveen.Ladharam@fotbot.org - Laveen will arrange an informal meeting for applicants wishing to discuss the role with a current Trustee.

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 30th September 2025 at 11.59pm.

We will review applications on an ongoing basis and hold the right to close the advert earlier if we successfully fill on three trustee vacancies.
