PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMPACT
Our Organization is a nonprofit organization working to empower women through self-help initiatives. We are seeking to affect the economic and societal conditions in our communities.
We are working with women in Kilimanjaro,Tanga and rural regions of Serengeti where jobs are scarce and incomes for individuals and families are typically less than $1 per day. The residents are subsistence farmers and there is little opportunity to earn money in this area. One of the primary programs is the Woman Empowerment Program. This program is designed to provide opportunities for income and employment to the women through teaching them how to make handcrafted products, sales skills, and other various trainings. Approximately 100 women are involved in the program making beautiful baskets and charcoal from local resources. The crafts are purchased and sold by women with all sales returning to fund programs in our organization, including handcraft training.

.ACTIVITIES AROUND MOS HI
There are many different activities to do around Moshi, such as mountain climbing, visiting the safaris, relaxing on the beaches and immersing yourself in ethnic and cultural excursions.
Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the main attractions around Moshi. People usually climb it in 6 days and the cost is about 1,200$. Amazing views from the top of this nearly 6,000 meters high mountain are well-worth the cost. CHILD HOPE FOUNDATION works with a local company, to provide safe and good deals to our volunteers and travelers.
Mt. Meru is the second highest peak in Tanzania, at nearly 4,600 meters high. Very good option for those who can’t afford to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. Most people climb it in 3 or 4 days and the price vary according to that, between 400-500$. The views at the summit are similarly amazing.
Climbing Ol Donoy Lengai is the third option, and maybe the hardest. It is an overnight hike, with some difficulties from the strong winds, but seeing fumaroles and sometimes even lava makes it all worthwhile. The price vary depending of how many people you share the transport with. Climbing the sacred mountain of the Masai can cost around 300$.
There are also day-hikes and excursions around Moshi, such as 100 meter high cascades or amazing hot springs in the wild

Serengeti National Park, The Crater of Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Arusha N.P and Lake Manyara are some of the game parks close to Moshi. Once you get to Tanzania it is always recommended for you to visit the safaris, no matter how expensive it may be.
The experience is akin to being in your own National Geographic documentary, simply amazing! The price can be around 165$ a day, if you share the Land Cruiser with at least 5 people. Otherwise, be prepared to pay more. We always try to help our guests to arrange for groups and share the costs.
