    Description

    If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity that’s equal parts challenging and rewarding, then this is the position for you!  

    We are a small, volunteer-driven charity that depends on the support of passionate, hardworking and creative people to provide FREE services to the Asperger (ASD-Level1) community across Ontario. AS ASO’s Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be responsible for helping to create an awesome and diverse team of volunteers to join our organization. 

    Need to know more about the job? Here are some of the things you’ll be doing:

    • Implement a volunteer recruitment plan that engages volunteers in the local community and ensures ASO programs are well supported with a diverse network of volunteers and skills. 
    • Design, update and circulate volunteer postings and student placement opportunities. 
    • Create and build relationships with businesses, community organisations, universities/colleges and individuals to grow our volunteer base. 
    • Coordinate the screening and interviewing of volunteers, students and groups in meaningful, well-matched volunteer roles at ASO and create new volunteer roles to meet program/service needs. 
    • Connect with other HR team members for best practice protocols. 

    What we are looking for from you:

    • Education and/or experience in HR is considered an asset
    • Self-starter, detail-oriented, punctual, consistent
    • Proven verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in database systems. 
    • Excellent leadership skills; impeccable judgement and discretion; strong diplomacy.
    • Creative, solutions-focused, and team player. 
    • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, partner organizations, corporate groups and community members. 

    Technology Capabilities Requirement:  Remote access ability. You will be required to use your own computer/laptop and will be given access to an ASO gmail account that you will use to conduct all ASO- related correspondence. You must be familiar with online web-conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom). 

    Time commitment: minimum 5 hours per week

    Screening Requirements:  Resume, Cover Letter, Interview, Reference Check

    Duration: Ongoing for ideally a minimum of 6 months duration. A reference letter could be provided upon completion of a 6-month commitment. 

    Training & Supervision:  Training provided through video conference.
