ABOUT
United Way Bay Area, an organization dedicated to ending poverty and providing equitable pathways to prosperity, is looking for volunteers! You will be working one-on-one with a high schooler, reviewing their college essay and providing feedback at a special 2-hour workshop! Students will have a chance to have their college application essays reviewed by multiple mentors.
THE IMPACT
Many high schoolers attending this workshop will be the first in their family to apply to college. Compared to their peers with college-educated parents, first-generation college applicants may not have access to the same resources and tools. By volunteering, you are supporting youth on their journey to higher education.
REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers will need to received training. A zoom training is available online on October 17 at noon. The recording and slides will be sent afterwards to attendees and those who were unable to attend.
