    Description

Construction work, Demo & Build a Shed for the Launch of a Youth bike Repair Program In June

We are looking for volunteers that can sign a hold harmless waiver and would like to help us with the Demolition and building up a shed structure for the storage of supplies for our Youth Bike repair Program.

This project has taken about a year to get all the parts and pieces together and it should be good to start in June/July.

We are needed carpenters, construction workers, people who need community service hours, highschool credit hours, maybe you are in a Trade school? Maybe you like the idea of Demo Day. You will need to sign a waiver of liability, we can provide some of the safety stuff, but if you have some, even better.

If you are are in Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and can travel to Hagerstown, we've had volunteers from PG County (Hyattsville), Frederick, Shippensburg, Chambersburg (PA) and also the Shepherd University (West Virginia). We love big groups that only need a one day event, you are all welcomed as we need lots of help!

We had a construction company offer to help us last year, but the permitting took longer than expected and they had other projects to do! So we are here again to try to get some help for the summer building project for our Youth Bike Repair Program where we will be giving (to start the launch) 15 kids slightly damaged (in shipping) bicycles and they will learn how to fix it, basic maintenance and at the end of the 10-12 week program, they can keep the bicycle! Learning by doing!

We are encouraging Veterans who want to volunteer to please reach out or if you are a veteran and have a youth between 8-17 that may be interested in the program, please reach out!

If you have a pick up truck and don't mind debris on the bed, that would be great too.
