Onsite Caretaker for the Dogs and Sanctuary Grounds

Position Summary: As a Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our rescued dogs and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The workload is expected to take 3-5 hours per day, with a minimum of 3 days per week commitment. The days and times available are flexible, but do need to be set. This opportunity is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

Animal Care:

• Cleaning and sanitizing dog kennels
• Preparing kennels for the day (food, water, bedding)
• Walking dogs and providing social interaction
• Monitoring dogs' health and behavior
• Errands for vet appointments and dog supplies

Groundskeeping:

• Maintaining cleanliness of common areas, walkways, and outdoor spaces
• Removing debris and litter
• Basic landscaping tasks (e.g., mowing, trimming)

Requirements:

• Passion for Animals: A genuine love for dogs and a commitment to animal welfare
• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor
• Reliability: Consistent and punctual attendance
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous in completing tasks and maintaining a clean environment
• Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff
