    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program specializing in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum emphasizing the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high

    school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    Position: Speaker Liaison

    Location: Remote

    Time commitment: Flexible Hours

    Description:

    As a Speaker Liaison for STEM Canada, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing relationships with guest speakers for our STEM education programs and events. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a passion for STEM education. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and supporting speakers who can inspire and educate students about various STEM fields and career opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Research and identify potential speakers from diverse STEM backgrounds, including industry professionals, academics, and innovators
    • Reach out to potential speakers and manage all communication throughout the engagement process.
    • Coordinate speaker schedules, travel arrangements, and logistical details for both in-person and virtual events.
    • Collaborate with the curriculum team to ensure speaker presentations align with STEM Canada's educational goals.
    • Manage a database of speakers and maintain relationships for future engagements.
    • Coordinate with the Virtual Platform Specialist to ensure the smooth execution of online speaker sessions.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Communications, Event Management, or a STEM discipline)
    • 2+ years of experience in event coordination, public relations, or a similar role
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Passion for STEM education and its importance in today's world
    • Experience in the education sector or working with STEM professionals (preferred)
