    About STEM Canada:

    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program specializing in an advanced, STEM-based educational curriculum emphasizing the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    Position Overview:

    The Dermatology Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching topics related to dermatology, assists students in understanding skin-related sciences, and contributes to fostering an engaging learning environment.

    Location: Remote

    Time commitment: 2 to 6 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities:

      • Teaching Support: Conduct discussion sessions, hold office hours, and assist with lectures focused on dermatological concepts and practices.
      • Grading: Evaluate student assignments, quizzes, and exams, ensuring timely and accurate feedback.
      • Student Assistance: Provide one-on-one or group support to help students comprehend topics such as skin anatomy, common disorders, and treatments.
      • Content Development: Assist in preparing course materials, study guides, and quizzes.
      • Resource Management: Ensure that learning resources are up-to-date and accessible to students.

    Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Medicine, or a related field; graduate students in dermatology or medical sciences are preferred.
      • Strong knowledge of dermatology principles, including skin physiology and common conditions.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Prior teaching or tutoring experience is an asset.
      • Ability to make complex concepts understandable and engaging for diverse learners.
      • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
