Join Our Team of Volunteers at Southwestern Community Services Head Start!
Volunteers are essential to the success of the SCS Head Start preschool program. By contributing your time and skills, you help create a rich and supportive learning environment for our children. Your involvement also strengthens the bond between our program and the community.
Volunteering with Head Start is both easy and rewarding. We depend on volunteers to meet our program’s needs, and we offer a variety of roles for individuals of varied ages and backgrounds. Whether you can give five hours or just five minutes, every contribution makes a difference.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Classroom Volunteer: Support developmentally appropriate activities, read to children, and participate in special classroom events.
- Task Based Volunteer: Assist teachers by preparing classroom activities at home (cutting, pasting, gluing, stapling, etc.)
- Manual Labor: Help maintain our facilities by painting, landscaping, repairing, and cleaning.

Volunteers are needed in each of our 5 Head Start Centers. Located in Keene, Swanzey, Jaffrey, Claremont and Newport.
