Podcast Co-Host (Debate-Style, Civic Engagement Focus) Job Description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic and articulate Podcast Co-Host to join our debate-style show, which aims to educate the public on a variety of topics while fostering civic engagement. The Co-Host will engage in thoughtful discussions, debates, and conversations on current issues, political topics, and societal concerns. This position requires a passion for civic discourse, a strong ability to research, and a readiness to approach issues from multiple perspectives.

Responsibilities:

Co-host a weekly podcast focused on educating listeners through debates and in-depth discussions on civic topics.

Research and present arguments on various issues, from politics to social justice to economic policies.

Collaborate with fellow co-host(s) to structure episodes that are balanced, informative, and engaging.

Provide fact-based arguments while being open to different perspectives during debates.

Engage with special guests, experts, and audience questions to further explore the topics.

Stay up-to-date with current events, laws, policies, and civic initiatives.

Help develop episode topics, questions, and talking points in advance of each recording.

Foster a respectful and inclusive environment during all discussions.

Promote the podcast through social media and other channels to drive civic participation and listener engagement.

Qualifications:

Strong communication skills and a passion for public speaking or debating.

Knowledge of civic issues, current events, and politics.

Ability to research and articulate various viewpoints.

Experience in podcasting, public speaking, or radio is a plus.

Team player with the ability to engage in respectful and thought-provoking discussions.

Social media savvy and comfortable promoting episodes.

Passion for educating and engaging listeners on civic issues.
