At Destiel, our mission is to uplift and empower the LGBTQ+ community through compassion, advocacy, and personal growth. Pillars of impact include education, support networks, and community engagement, as we aim to inspire resilience, promote inclusivity, and carve a path towards a brighter future where diversity is celebrated, equality prevails, and every LGBTQ+ person can soar to new heights in rural and urban communities.

    Role Summary

Destiel is seeking a highly self-motivated and results-driven Fundraising Director to lead and execute fundraising initiatives that secure financial support for our programs. This remote role requires a strategic thinker who can independently develop and manage fundraising campaigns, build donor relationships, and drive sponsorships and grant funding efforts. If you have experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development and want to make a meaningful impact in the LGBTQ+ community, we want to hear from you!

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations.
    • Lead and oversee fundraising campaigns, including online giving drives, sponsorship outreach, and major donor engagement.
    • Cultivate and maintain donor relationships, ensuring ongoing communication and appreciation.
    • Collaborate with the Grant Writer to identify and apply for funding opportunities.
    • Plan and execute virtual fundraising events, such as crowdfunding campaigns, online auctions, and digital donor appreciation events.
    • Track fundraising goals and progress, providing reports and recommendations for improvement.
    • Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling donor materials and social media fundraising campaigns.
    • Engage in community outreach to expand Destiel’s network and funding sources.

    Qualifications:

    • Must be highly self-motivated, independent, and proactive.
    • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, grant writing, or nonprofit development.
    • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies with minimal supervision.
    • Experience organizing fundraising events and digital campaigns.
    • Passionate about LGBTQ+ advocacy and nonprofit sustainability.

    Why Volunteer with Us?

    • Lead fundraising efforts for a growing LGBTQ+ nonprofit making a real impact.
    • Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development, donor engagement, and strategic fundraising.
    • Work remotely with flexible hours while driving meaningful change.
    • Be part of a passionate, mission-driven team dedicated to LGBTQ+ empowerment.
