Position Title: Volunteer Recruiter and Team Captain for Team Kitten Rescue in the 2025 LA Marathon

Location: Remote/Community-Based

About Us:

Kitten Rescue is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of homeless and abandoned cats through rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. We believe that every cat deserves a loving home, and we rely on passionate volunteers to help us spread the word and raise funds for our mission.

Role Overview:

As a Volunteer Recruiter and Team Captain for our LA Marathon runners, you will play a vital role in building the team which will participate in various running events to raise money for Kitten Rescue the weekend of March 15/16, 2025. Your passion for running and love for cats will inspire like-minded individuals to join our cause and make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruitment:
  • Identify and reach out to potential runners through local running clubs, social media, community events, etc.
  • Create and share engaging content that highlights the mission of Kitten Rescue and the impact of running a race for a charity purpose.
• Inspiration:
  • Foster a sense of community among runners by sharing personal stories, testimonials, and successes of past participants.
  • Encourage runners to set personal goals and support them in achieving these targets.
• Education:
  • Provide information about the running commitment required for events, including training schedules and event details.
• Support:
  • Act as a point of contact for runners, answering questions and providing motivation throughout their training and fundraising journeys.
  • Organize meet-ups or training runs to build camaraderie among team members.

Qualifications:

• Passion for Running: A background in running and understanding of the commitment involved in training for events.
• Love for Cats: A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to Kitten Rescue’s mission.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively inspire and engage potential runners.
• Social Media Savvy: Familiarity with social media platforms to promote recruitment efforts and engage with the community.
• Team Player: A collaborative spirit and the ability to work well with diverse individuals.
