    Description

    The Pro Bono General Counsel is DC Action’s legal advisor and works with our organization’s leadership on legal matters, governance policy, compliance, and other legalities.

    Specifically, DC Action’s Pro Bono General Counsel provides legal support on matters of nonprofit corporate governance, contracts and finance, directors and officers insurance, intellectual property, privacy policies, risk management and tax compliance. The General Counsel also represents the nonprofit in legal and court matters, responds to subpoenas and sometimes works with employment attorneys, as needed.

    The Pro Bono General Counsel should have strong skills in nonprofit law, written and oral communication, and problem solving. Qualified candidates should also have a demonstrated commitment to social justice.
