    Position Title: Program Coordinator (Volunteer)

    Location: Remote with potential in-person opportunities (dependent on location)

    Commitment: 6-12 months, part-time (10-15 hours per week, with potential in-person participation once or twice a month)

    About Safe Haven Space: Safe Haven Space is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of refugee students as they transition into their new communities. Our programs aim to reduce the stigma around mental health and equip students with the tools they need to thrive in school and life.

    Position Overview: We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Program Coordinator to support the planning and implementation of our new Initiative. This initiative focuses on providing mental health resources and support to refugee students through partnerships with local refugee organizations and schools. As a volunteer Program Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in organizing activities, managing communications, and ensuring the smooth execution of program goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Program Coordination: Assist in planning and coordinating program activities.
    • Partnership Liaison: Work closely with refugee organizations, therapists, and interpreters to facilitate collaboration and ensure that program objectives are met.
    • Recruitment: Help recruit program participants through partner agencies and schools.
    • Communication: Manage communications between Safe Haven Space, partner organizations, and participants to ensure seamless program execution.
    • Volunteer Support: Coordinate with other volunteers and facilitators (e.g., therapists, and social workers) to ensure that program sessions run smoothly.
    • Monitoring & Reporting: Attend program sessions, track program progress, gather feedback, and assist in compiling reports on program outcomes.
    • Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling, maintaining program records, and other administrative duties as needed.
    • In-Person Participation: Depending on location, assist with program activities or events in person, potentially once or twice a month.

    Qualifications:

    • Passion for mental health advocacy and supporting refugee communities.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Experience in program coordination, project management, or nonprofit work (preferred but not required).
    • Commitment to a 6-12 month volunteer role (approximately 10-15 hours per week, with flexibility for in-person activities once or twice a month).
