    Position Summary:

    The Development Specialist (Volunteer) will play a key role in securing funding to support Sacred Soil Mission’s environmental projects. This volunteer position is responsible for fundraising, crowd-sourcing, and building meaningful relationships with donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, who align with our mission. The time commitment is approximately 3-4 hours per week. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the environment, exceptional communication skills, and a results-oriented approach to donor engagement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Donor Identification and Cultivation: Research and identify prospective donors, including high-net-worth individuals, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic foundations, with an interest in environmental sustainability.
    • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors through personalized outreach, meetings, and regular updates about the impact of their contributions.
    • Fundraising Strategy: Collaborate with the leadership team to design and implement fundraising strategies that align with organizational goals and project needs.
    • Crowd-Sourcing Initiatives: Lead efforts to engage community members and supporters in crowd-sourcing campaigns to fund key projects.
    • Event Support: Assist in planning and executing donor appreciation events, fundraising campaigns, and community engagement initiatives.
    • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and contributions using the organization’s CRM system, ensuring timely follow-up and recognition.
    • Reporting: Track and report on fundraising progress, including donor acquisition and retention metrics, to inform strategic decisions.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in development, fundraising, or benevolence work.
    • Prior work with a faith-based organization is preferred but not required.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with donor management software and CRM systems is a plus.
    • Passion for environmental sustainability and the mission of Sacred Soil Mission Corp.
