    Description

    AIGA's DC chapter seeks an Awards Chair to join the Board of Directors.

    Join the dynamic AIGA DC board, a team of 20+ volunteers driving local programming and communications for creatives in the vibrant DMV region! It’s your chance to shape and uplift the creative community, gaining leadership skills, making connections, and enjoying the company of an amazing group of passionate volunteers—all while attending AIGA DC events for free!

    Overview

    The 2024-2025 Awards Chair coordinates the Fellow Awards process, from recruiting a Fellow Awards Committee to planning the award ceremony.

    The Fellow Awards recognizes those who have made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within the DC area design community.

    General

    • Lead as committee executive and recruit a committee to help plan and execute the awards
    • Create creative briefs and bring on a local agency to brand promotional materials and the ceremony
    • Coordinate the selection of work and communicating with entrants
    • Plan and execute an event to celebrate the awardees
    • Produce one other event during the programming year about excellence in design and bring awareness of Fellows.
