    Description

    VP of Programs

    Programs will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for all programs areas. Develop and implement new processes, monitor operations, and provide strategic direction.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provide thoughtful, creative, enthusiastic, and strategic leadership both within Black Family Mental Health community needs and issues.
    2. Collaborate with the VP of Events to develop high‐end innovative convening, including expanding online and in‐person opportunities that address the needs of the Black Family Mental Health needs.
    3. Remain current on policy issues and help strategically position EGF ahead of major data trends impacting the community and the nonprofit sector.
    4. Collaborate with the VP of Grantmaking to provide vision and direction to build and manage a grantmaking strategy, including discretionary and donor requests, grant processing, monitoring, and community interactions.
    5. Work with the VP of Marketing and VP of Social Media to serve as a liaison with external partners and work to strengthen the foundation’s role as a thought leader within the community.
    6. Attract, develop, coach, and retain high‐performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility and performance
    7. Work with the Director of COO/HR to achieve applicable strategic objectives toward equity by implementing individual, departmental, and organizational action plans.
    8. Create and manage the Programs budget.
    9. Work with the CEO, DOF, and VP of Grantmaking to coordinate the timing and amount of grant payouts and the availability of funds.

    Skills/Qualifications

    • Two or more years experience in program management, preferably within the nonprofit, mental health, or education sectors
    • Experience working with diverse populations, with a commitment to advancing black mental health awareness and resources
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across internal teams, community partners, and external stakeholders.
    • Experience advocating for organizational mission at public events and to a wide range of audiences
    • High emotional intelligence with a demonstrated commitment to leading with empathy, inclusivity, and equity
    • 5-10 hours per month commitment to EGF
