    Description

YRHS is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator!

Our first sober living home- Angela's New Dawn (the AND House) utilizes volunteers in a variety of ways to mentor and teach life skills to the young women in our program. We are in need of someone willing to volunteer to coordinate all other volunteers to ensure we have volunteers coming to the home throughout the week to assist with activities such as cooking, gardening, etc.

The main goal of a Volunteer Coordinator is to ensure an organization has enough volunteers to fulfill its service mission. To meet that goal, a Volunteer Coordinator must perform a variety of duties involving recruitment, training and program planning.

    Responsibilities

Assist in recruiting and screening potential volunteers to determine if they are a good fit for the organization.

Assist in training volunteers by giving new volunteers tours of the home and help new volunteers get settled into their roles. Orient volunteers to increase their understanding of the AND House, its residents, its services and the role and responsibilities of volunteers.

Schedule Volunteers: Work closely with volunteers to come up with a schedule that works for everyone. If the organization has a special event planned, the Volunteer Manager is also responsible for ensuring the right number of volunteers are available.

Serve as a liaison between volunteers and staff.

Plan and implement formal and informal volunteer recognition activities to recognize the contribution of volunteers to the organization.

Time commitment: 5+ hours per week. We are hoping for someone that can commit to this for at least one year, but this is not required.

    Benefit to you:

This could be a great opportunity for someone retired looking for more connections and to mentor and teach young people. It could be an equally great opportunity for someone early in their career looking for a resume builder. The YRHS Board is diverse, well connected, and could provide letters of recommendation.
