    Description

    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    Location: Remote

    Time Commitment: 2 hours per week for job fairs; 30 minutes per week for volunteer team meetings.

    Description: As an Engineering Activity Planner, you will oversee and manage the planning and coordination of engineering activities within STEM Canada. This role involves developing detailed activity plans, ensuring the timely execution of projects, and maintaining effective communication among team members. You will work closely with project managers and engineering teams to ensure that activities are well-organized, on schedule, and aligned with organizational objectives. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop project management skills and gain valuable experience in engineering activity planning.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive activity plans for engineering projects, ensuring clear timelines and milestones.

    • Coordinate with engineering teams to schedule activities, allocate resources, and monitor progress.

    • Evaluate project requirements and constraints, adjusting plans as necessary to meet organizational goals and deadlines.

    • Facilitate regular team meetings to review progress, address any issues, and ensure alignment with project objectives.

    • Maintain clear and timely communication with team members and stakeholders, providing updates and resolving any issues that arise.

    • Document project plans, schedules, and outcomes to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

    Requirements: 

    • Proven experience in project planning or engineering activity management, preferably with a focus on STEM-related projects.

    • Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices.

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and details efficiently.

    • Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and stakeholders.

    • Ability to work collaboratively and provide support to team members in a remote work environment.
