    Description

    Community Outreach Chair – Nonprofit Board Member

    Are you passionate about connecting people and building partnerships to make a difference? Join our nonprofit as the Volunteer Community Outreach Chair! In this key board role, you’ll lead efforts to expand our organization’s visibility, engage with community stakeholders, and build relationships that support our mission.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategies to increase community awareness of the organization’s programs and initiatives.
    • Cultivate relationships with local schools, businesses, government agencies, and community groups to foster collaboration and support.
    • Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
    • Coordinate outreach campaigns to promote our signature programs, including:
      • Student Impact Center
      • Free Impact Little Library
      • Family Advocacy Support Services
      • Humanity First Distribution
    • Oversee the development of outreach materials such as flyers, social media posts, and newsletters in collaboration with the communications team.
    • Act as a liaison between the community and the board, sharing feedback and insights to inform strategic decisions.
    • Support volunteer recruitment efforts by engaging new individuals and organizations.
    • Report outreach activities and progress at board meetings.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Experience in community outreach, marketing, or public relations (preferred but not required).
    • Enthusiastic and approachable with a passion for serving others.
    • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple outreach activities.
    • Commitment to the mission and vision of the organization.

    Time Commitment:

    Approximately 5-8 hours per month, including attendance at board meetings, outreach events, and follow-up activities.
